Factory Requirements for a Plastic Extrusion Line
Prepare workshop layout, electrical supply, cooling, material handling and installation responsibilities before ordering an extrusion line.
Plan around the complete production route
Factory preparation should begin with the intended product and a proposed line layout. The space and utilities required for extrusion depend on the equipment configuration and on the upstream and downstream operations included in the project.
A workshop length or power figure copied from another installation is not a reliable specification for a new line. Share the available site information early and request project-specific requirements before committing to building alterations or utility equipment.
Provide a usable workshop drawing
Include clear internal dimensions, column locations, entrances, usable height and any areas that cannot be occupied. Mark the proposed material entry and finished-product exit, utility connection points, and existing machines that must remain.
Allow the supplier to review the whole flow: raw-material storage, preparation, the extrusion section, finishing, inspection and finished-goods handling. Request maintenance access and equipment-removal routes in the layout as well as normal operating space. Floor loading and any foundation requirements must be checked against the supplier’s equipment information and the actual building.

For each item, name who specifies it, who supplies it and who completes the connection. Keep the approved utility schedule with the layout so later configuration changes can be checked against both.
Match storage and finishing to the product
Flooring and board projects need space for the intermediate product as well as the machine footprint. If finishing is carried out separately, plan transfer, storage and receiving areas between the two operations. Confirm handling arrangements with the product dimensions and stack sizes used in the project.
The SPC line and LVT line pages illustrate different equipment scopes to discuss. A PVC marble sheet project should also define its decoration and finishing boundary. These references support planning but do not replace an approved installation drawing.
Agree on readiness before equipment arrives
Use a joint readiness checklist covering access, utilities, installation responsibilities, trial materials, inspection equipment and the personnel involved in commissioning. Confirm which tools, lifting services and local contractors are the buyer’s responsibility.
Identify who approves the site layout and who signs off utilities before the trial. Electrical, building and workplace requirements should be checked by the appropriate qualified local parties; this planning guide does not provide a site engineering design.
