Product overview
Produce Lightweight PVC Foam Boards with Stable Quality
The PVC Free Foam Board Extrusion Line is designed for continuous production of lightweight rigid boards with a smooth surface, uniform internal structure and stable dimensions.
The finished boards are waterproof, moisture-resistant and easy to cut, print, laminate, drill and process. They are suitable for advertising, furniture manufacturing, interior decoration and a wide range of industrial applications.
The production line uses a two-stage extrusion system to separate material plasticization from precision metering and foaming control. This helps improve board density consistency, surface quality and continuous production stability.

Production process
From Raw Material to Finished Board
Material Preparation
PVC resin, calcium carbonate, stabilizers, foaming agents and other additives are accurately prepared according to the product formulation.
Mixing and Feeding
The hot and cold mixing system distributes the raw materials uniformly before automatic feeding into the extrusion system.
Two-Stage Extrusion
The two-stage extrusion system completes material plasticization, mixing, homogenization and precision melt metering. It stabilizes melt flow, pressure and temperature before the material enters the foaming and forming process.
Melt Filtration and Mixing
The screen changer removes impurities, while the static mixer improves melt and additive uniformity.
Foaming and Forming
The material passes through the specialized PVC free-foaming die to form the required board width and initial thickness.
Calibration and Cooling
The board enters the calibration and multi-section cooling system for thickness control, surface shaping and gradual cooling.
Haul-Off and Cutting
The synchronized haul-off unit maintains stable board movement before automatic cutting to the preset length.
Turn-Over and Stacking
The finished boards are automatically turned over and stacked for inspection, packaging and further processing.
Technical advantages
Core Technical Advantages
Precision Foaming Control
The specialized screw, static mixer and foaming die are designed around the processing characteristics of PVC free foam board. Optimized melt flow, pressure and temperature control help create a finer and more uniform cellular structure while reducing unstable foaming and surface defects.
Stable Temperature Management
The extrusion system uses multi-zone PID temperature control across the barrel, adapter, mixer and die sections. Stable temperature management is particularly important during foaming-agent decomposition and board forming, helping maintain consistent production over long operating periods.
Accurate Calibration and Gradual Cooling
The calibration unit controls the initial board shape, thickness and surface flatness immediately after extrusion. The multi-section cooling table gradually removes heat from the board, helping reduce deformation, internal stress and dimensional shrinkage.
Synchronized Haul-Off and Precision Cutting
The multi-roller haul-off unit provides stable pulling force and synchronized speed control throughout continuous production. The automatic cutting saw cuts the board to the preset length, while carbide-tipped blades provide cleaner edges with reduced chipping.
Automatic Turn-Over Stacking
The automatic turn-over stacker receives, flips and stacks the finished boards in an orderly sequence. This reduces manual handling, protects the board surface and improves downstream packaging efficiency.
Intelligent Central Control
The centralized control system integrates extrusion temperature, melt pressure, screw speed, haul-off speed, vacuum conditions, cooling conditions and cutting length. Where configured, recipe management allows production settings for different board thicknesses and densities to be stored and recalled.

Production challenges
Designed Around the Main Variables in Foam Board Production
Uneven Board Density
Stable plasticization, material mixing and foaming control help reduce density variation across the board.
Thickness Fluctuation
Coordinated extrusion, calibration and haul-off control improve thickness consistency during continuous production.
Surface Defects
Uniform melt flow and controlled die temperature help reduce rough surfaces, visible flow marks and unstable surface formation.
Board Deformation
Gradual cooling and consistent haul-off speed help limit warping, shrinkage and internal stress.
Frequent Manual Adjustment
Centralized parameter control and recipe storage reduce repeated machine setup when changing board specifications.
