SPC Flooring Equipment: Separate Process Claims from Product Evidence
Review SPC flooring environmental claims through product testing, dust controls and scrap handling; equipment selection alone does not guarantee certification.
Buying an SPC flooring line does not automatically establish the environmental performance or certification status of the finished floor. Evaluate the formulation, surface layers and factory process together, then obtain evidence for the specific claims you plan to make. Machine specifications, product test reports and factory operating requirements answer different questions and should be reviewed separately.

Start with the intended claim
Identify whether the buyer needs indoor-emission evidence, a recycled-content statement, a market-specific product document or information about production resource use. Each claim needs its own scope and supporting records. RFCI’s FloorScore information concerns flooring indoor-air-quality certification; a production-line purchase is not evidence that a particular floor holds that certification. Confirm requirements with the relevant certification body for the actual product and target market.
Review the full flooring construction
A route that bonds certain layers through heat should not be described as proof of zero emissions or universal chemical safety. The core recipe, additives, decorative film, wear layer, surface coating and attached backing all belong in the product review. Keep material identification and supplier documents traceable to samples. If a component changes, ask the testing or certification specialist whether the existing evidence still applies before repeating the same product claim.
Ask how factory controls are implemented
For powder preparation, discuss containment, collection points, cleaning access and responsibility for any extraction system. Establish how the proposed equipment connects to the factory’s arrangements. For energy comparisons, define the equipment boundary, operating conditions and measurement method; a promised saving without a comparable baseline is not a useful purchasing fact. Record who assesses local operating requirements and who supplies the information needed for that assessment.
Treat scrap reuse as a controlled decision
Separate clean internal production scrap from mixed, coated or externally sourced material. Ask which streams may return to the selected recipe and what checks are needed before reuse. Do not assume that all waste can be repeatedly recycled into saleable flooring. A practical project brief lists the product claims to be verified, proposed material streams and factory controls. Discuss the equipment route with Jiahao, then establish testing and certification responsibilities independently in the project documents.
