SPC Flooring Performance Claims: What Equipment Can and Cannot Establish
Assess SPC flooring claims using evidence for the actual recipe and layer structure, keeping fire, slip, emissions and wear results separate from machine features.
An SPC flooring production line can be specified and tested as equipment, but its features do not establish every performance claim for the finished floor. The actual formulation, surface layers, backing and manufacturing conditions all need to be considered. Before advertising fire behavior, slip resistance, emissions or durability, obtain evidence that applies to the flooring construction you plan to manufacture and sell.

Separate machine acceptance from product performance
A production trial can show whether the proposed route forms and handles the intended material under agreed conditions. It may provide samples for later evaluation, but it is not a substitute for every relevant flooring test. Define machine acceptance and finished-product requirements separately. Record which checks occur at the factory trial, which need conditioned samples and which require a qualified testing or certification process.
Review fire and slip statements carefully
Do not describe SPC as universally fireproof or assume it produces no harmful gases in a fire. A fire classification must be supported by evidence for the relevant construction and application. Similarly, a textured appearance or a claim that the surface becomes grippier when wet does not settle slip performance. Ask what result supports the intended statement and whether its conditions match the product and market requirement.
Match emissions evidence to the construction
A heat-lamination step does not prove that an entire floor has zero emissions or contains no restricted substances. Include the recipe, films, coating and attached backing in the product review. RFCI describes FloorScore as a flooring indoor-air-quality certification program; any certification claim must be verified for the actual product. Keep sample and component identification available so changes can be reviewed before reusing earlier evidence.
Replace universal life claims with defined checks
Wear performance, dimensional behavior and installation requirements should be evaluated against the chosen floor specification. Avoid projecting a service life from the machine model or one wear-layer description. Discuss intended use and supporting evidence with the product team, then give the equipment supplier the manufacturing requirements that follow. Jiahao can help define the SPC production route from a floor brief. Product claims should be developed from verified results, with unresolved questions made explicit rather than replaced by a generic list of flooring advantages.
