How to Choose an LVT Flooring Production Line
A buyer guide to LVT layer structure, lamination, output assumptions and equipment scope before requesting a production line quotation.
Start with the floor structure
Choose an LVT flooring production line by defining the sheet you want to manufacture, the layers it contains and the operations that must be completed in your factory. Extruder capacity alone does not describe a complete flooring project.
Prepare a cross-section drawing or physical sample. Identify the substrate, balance layer, decorative film and wear layer where applicable. State whether the immediate output is flooring sheet, a substrate for further processing or a finished flooring product. This distinction sets the boundary of the quotation.
Turn the product brief into an equipment specification

For an initial discussion, the Jiahao LVT line overview describes extrusion, T-die forming, balance-layer lamination, film lamination, five-roll calendering, cooling, hauling and cutting. Check each module against your product rather than assuming that every option is included.
Compare output on the same basis
Ask each supplier to state the formula, product thickness, width and operating assumptions behind a capacity figure. A daily output figure needs a stated operating period. Gross production and saleable production should also be distinguished: start-up material, trimming, product changeovers and rejected sheets affect the latter.
If one quotation uses kilograms per hour and another uses square metres per day, request a comparison based on the same sheet construction and working schedule. Do not convert between these units without an agreed mass per square metre. Ask how the capacity will be demonstrated during the acceptance trial.
Specify lamination and surface options
Confirm which films and layers will be supplied by the buyer, how they are unwound and how alignment and bonding will be checked. If the product needs a balance layer, include it in the drawing and equipment scope. If the decorative texture must align with the printed design, discuss the optional online EIR synchronization system separately.
For a click-floor project, list the operations after sheet production as well. Cutting a sheet to length does not establish that every finishing operation required for a saleable floor is included in the extrusion quotation.
Check utilities, support and acceptance
Share the available supply voltage, frequency, workshop drawing and cooling conditions. Request a line layout with maintenance access and material handling areas, together with utility requirements for the complete agreed scope. The factory preparation guide provides a starting checklist.
Agree what the trial must demonstrate: product dimensions, visual quality, layer bonding, stable operation and any tests relevant to the intended market. Product testing and certification requirements should be named explicitly; a component brand or a machine quotation is not a finished-product certification.
Send a brief that can be quoted
- Finished product sample or cross-section and intended market.
- Width, thickness, layer materials and tolerances.
- Target output and working schedule.
- Balance-layer, decorative-film and EIR requirements.
- Operations already available in your factory.
- Voltage, cooling conditions and workshop plan.
