LVT Calendering and Lamination: Questions for a Forming-System Review
Review an LVT calender and lamination system by layer bonding, film handling, embossing and thickness checks without assuming one roll arrangement is superior.
For an LVT production project, evaluate the calender and lamination arrangement by the flooring it must form and the layers it must join. A horizontal or vertical layout, roll count or roll diameter is a design detail that needs context. Ask how the proposed system supports your layer structure, surface appearance and inspection requirements rather than assuming one illustrated arrangement is inherently superior.

Define each layer's entry point
Provide a drawing of the intended floor construction and identify where each layer enters the proposed process. Ask how decorative and wear films are positioned, how any balance layer is applied and which stages are part of the forming section. Establish whether heat bonding is used in the selected route and whether any other joining operations occur later. Do not extend a statement about one lamination step into a universal claim about the entire floor.
Review film handling and contact conditions
Ask how the supplier manages unwind alignment, tension and film changes with your chosen materials. Discuss how the proposed controls maintain the intended contact between the sheet and layers. Request the procedure for dealing with a film splice or interrupted supply. A machine demonstration should include sample inspection before and after the relevant transition, not only a short run using a fresh roll under ideal conditions.
Evaluate the embossing requirement
Distinguish a general surface texture from embossing that must register with a printed design. If register embossing is required, confirm whether the proposal includes the necessary arrangement and how it will be demonstrated. Ask about changing the surface pattern, handling the roll and recording the setup. The purchase decision should consider the product range and changeover work as well as the appearance of one attractive sample.
Check the formed flooring after cooling
Agree where and when samples are measured for thickness, surface condition and layer bonding. Look for differences across the sheet and through the agreed trial run. Include the receiving and later processing stages in the review, because good appearance at the roll exit does not settle the finished product result. Discuss the proposed forming system with Jiahao using a floor sample and layer specification. The current LVT product scope provides a configuration reference, while the accepted proposal should describe your actual machine arrangement.
