SPC Flooring Layers and Machine Functions: Connect Product to Process
Connect SPC flooring layers with extrusion, lamination, surface treatment and backing operations to define the equipment needed for your intended floor.
An SPC flooring machine makes part of a flooring product; it is not itself a kind of floor. To understand the equipment needed, connect the floor’s layer drawing with the operations that form or attach those layers. This helps distinguish core production from surface finishing and prevents a short machine description from being mistaken for a complete finished-floor specification.

Identify the core and its forming route
For the proposed SPC construction, document the core recipe and desired sheet geometry. Ask how material preparation, extrusion, die forming and downstream shaping work together to deliver that substrate. The core’s role in the final product should be described through the agreed floor specification, rather than phrases such as “the strength of stone.” Dimensions and other relevant properties must be checked on samples from the selected process.
Separate decoration from the wear surface
The decorative layer creates the chosen visual design; the specified wear layer has a different role in the floor construction. Identify both in the drawing and show where they are applied in the proposed route. Ask how the lamination arrangement handles their materials and alignment. A realistic wood appearance does not establish wear performance, and the presence of a wear film does not establish a service life without suitable product evidence.
Locate coating and backing operations
If surface coating is required, include its equipment, handling and inspection boundary. Backing or underlay is another project choice, with the material and attachment operation to be defined separately. Do not assume every SPC floor has the same attached foam or that a backing guarantees an acoustic result. Identify the test evidence needed for the exact finished construction rather than combining claims from unrelated flooring products.
Convert the drawing into a supply list
Mark which layers and operations belong to the supplier’s equipment package, which use existing factory equipment and which need another procurement. Include any conditioning, cutting and locking-profile machining needed after sheet formation. Request a trial that produces the target construction so that layer bonding and later processing can be evaluated together. Send Jiahao the floor cross-section and finishing requirements; a clear layer-to-process review gives the equipment enquiry a precise starting point and makes missing operations easier to identify.
